The Friends Of The Cannon River Wilderness Area Park spent a Saturday morning in April, 2017, doing an Adopt-A-Highway cleanup on a stretch of Co. Rd. 20 near the east entrance to the park.

The Friends of the Cannon River Wilderness Area have been working with Rice County since 1997 to educate, enhance and conserve the Wilderness Area. Past projects include foot bridges, interpretive signage, printing and distribution of maps and brochures, removal of invasive species, and gifts of land and funds to the park. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit group.

Membership is $20 for new members and $35 per subsequent year. To join or contribute a gift, please send your name, email address and a check to Friends of the Cannon River Wilderness Area, 13192 Cannon City Blvd., Northfield, MN 55057.

Get Involved

We value volunteer help for all our projects, from eradicating buckthorn to improving trails. The Friends now sponsor Adopt-A-Highway clean-up days on Cannon City Blvd. (Hwy 20) adjacent to the east side of the park in the spring and fall. We also plan to offer seasonal guided walks. Watch the home page for upcoming events!
